IMO Dangerous Goods

The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) defines as hazardous materials those into the following classes 

Class 1 - Explosives
Class 2 - Gases
Class 3 - Flammable Liquids
Class 4 - Flammable Solids
Class 5 - Oxidizing Substances and Organic Peroxides
Class 6 - Toxic Substances
Class 7 - Radioactive Materials
Class 8 - Corrosives
Class 9 - Miscellaneous Dangerous Substances And Articles


The transport of this type of cargo requires some special procedures:

Booking

In addition to the standard procedure of booking, the customer must fill in the following documents:
- DCR (Dangerous Cargo Request) - Emergency Sheet, both available upon request with the Customer Service Area.
Once the documents are delivered, the request shall undergo an internal review for approval or denial.


Shipment

If the transportation of dangerous cargo is approved, in addition to the previously mentioned documents it shall be required the following documents for shipment:
- DANFE (Invoice)
- MDGF (Multimodal Dangerous Goods Form)
- MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).
