The Maersk Group was founded in 1904 in Denmark. It currently has approximately 108,000 employees in 130 countries. The group is globally present and is composed of companies in the navigation, energy, and similar businesses. Their fleets of container transportation, tankers and logistics services move a large part of the products which are distributed daily around the globe. Their oil and gas companies provide energy from sources in Europe, Africa and Middle East. Other business units provide supply services, drilling and emergency towing, and also include a large retail chain in Europe.

Maersk Line is the largest division of container transportation of Maersk Group, and our main partner in the group. Maersk Line's fleet consists of over 500 ships and a number of containers corresponding to more than 1.9 million TEUS (Twenty Equivalent Units - container measuring 20 feet long). This ensures a reliable and comprehensive global coverage, making Maersk Line the world leader in container transportation. Maersk Line is among the world's most efficient shipowners in terms of carbon emissions, having managed to reduce by 12.5% its rate of emission per container transported between 2007 and 2009.
